Man arrested in connection with the shooting death of his wife in York County

York-Poquoson Sheriff’s investigators have arrested a 58-year-old man they say shot his wife to death in their York County home Friday night.

Brian Keith Patterson is charged with second-degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is being held in the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail without bond.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to investigate a shooting in the 1200 block of Penniman Road around 8:31 p.m. Friday.

There, they found Patterson’s wife, Princess Chapman, dead, and took Patterson into custody.

Authorities said they believe it was “a domestic related incident.”

No other details about the incident were immediately released.
