Body found on York River Shore identified

Authorities have identified the body found on the shore at York River as that of a Lackey woman.

York-Poquoson Sheriff’s officials said the woman was Roberta Beale.

She was 53 years old.

Authorities said the investigation and Medical Examiner’s Office found no signs of foul play.

No other details were released.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 600 block of Water Street in Yorktown, the beach picnic area, at around 12:03 p.m. Tuesday.

A person walking in the area told dispatchers of seeing a body near the shore.
