The Newport News Department of Human Services is hosting a series of workshops catered to teens and young adults.
Adulting 101 classes are for residents ages 14 to 21 and all the events are free. Register here.
Those who attend the workshops can learn a variety of skills, including time management, communicating confidently, interviewing tips and more, according to the city’s announcement.
“Learn some useful skills and tips to help ease your transition into Adulthood,” the event page description noted. See the list of upcoming classes below:
- March 18 : Managing Your Time – “Receive tips on how to make the most of your active lifestyle.”
- April 8: Communication Skills – “Learn how to communicate clearly and with confidence.”
- April 22: “Now Hiring – Learn the skills and behaviors employers look for, how to interview successfully and dressing for the job you want.”
