
The Newport News Police Foundation is hosting a fundraiser to benefit a fallen officer’s daughter.
Tickets cost $5 and all ticket and raffle purchases will go to the police foundation’s fund for Officer Katie Thyne’s 2-year-old daughter, Raegan.
Thyne was 24 years old when she killed in the line of duty during a traffic stop on Jan. 23.

“We are asking you all to come together to remember and celebrate the life of fallen Newport News Police Officer Katie Thyne,” the Facebook event page notes. “We have teamed up with some of her brothers & sisters in blue to hold a benefit in honor of a true hero.”
Attendees can expect live music, cider taps and Frank’s Monster Munchies food truck. You can buy tickets here.
The Memorial Celebration & Fundraiser for Officer Katie Thyne is at Sly Clyde Ciderworks, 207 E Mellen St., in Hampton on Feb. 29 from noon to 6 p.m.
