Yorktown man succumbs to injuries from motorcycle crash

A 31-year-old Yorktown man succumbed to injuries he suffered following a motorcycle crash Tuesday.

Virginia State Police said Andrew Joseph Forrest died at the hospital Wednesday morning.

The crash happened at around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday on Waterview Road, east of Hornsbyville Road in York County.

Police said Forrest was traveling in the westbound lanes of Waterview Road on a 2007 Harley Davidson, when he ran off the roadway, and struck a ditch.

Forrest, of the 100 block of Kentucky Drive, Yorktown, was taken to the Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

“Alcohol nor speed played a contributing factor,” said Sgt. Michelle Anaya, State Police spokeswoman.
