This comedy club fundraiser will benefit Officer Katie Thyne’s daughter

Cozzy’s Comedy Club & Tavern in Newport News is hosting a fundraiser to benefit the Officer Katie Thyne Memorial Fund.

The memorial fund set up by the Newport News Police Foundation benefits Thyne’s 2-year-old daughter, Raegan. Thyne was killed in the line of duty during a traffic stop on Jan. 23.

She was 24 years old.

The comedy club will have two events for the benefit which features Charlie Wiener, a comedian, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the memorial fund, according to the Facebook event page.

The two comedy shows at Cozzy’s Comedy Club & Tavern, 9700 Warwick Blvd., are on Feb. 18-19 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
