Virginia Beach Police say a fugitive was fatally shot Wednesday morning.
It happened at approximately 6:39 a.m.. Virginia Beach Emergency Communications was advised of an officer involved shooting that took place in the 900 block of Mailtalnd Drive.
This was a US Marshals Task Force operation, according to police. Out of state officers were attempting to make an arrest for a fugitive. The suspect sustained a fatal gunshot wound during the attempt.
The Virginia Beach Police Department will conduct an investigation into the shooting, along with the US Marshals.
There are no further details at this time.
