Hampton’s newest trampoline park has opened at Peninsula Town Center, adding a mecca for indoor family entertainment among the shopping center’s retail stores and restaurants.

Sky Zone neighbors Floor & Decor on Executive Drive and brings wall-to-wall trampolines, foam pits, and rock walls but Cody Keane, the park’s general manager, said that’s just the beginning of the fun.

“We are a trampoline park but what’s cool about it is there are attractions that don’t require a trampoline, like our ‘Warrior Course,’ warp wall, and in our ‘Foam Zone’ there’s jousting,” he said.

There’s also the arcade, free face painting and food concessions.

Keane also said on Friday and Saturday nights from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. the park does a “Glow” event when the more adventurous can enjoy the attractions under blacklights and lasers.

“We are extremely pleased and excited about the opening of the Sky Zone,” said Hampton Mayor Donnie Tuck. “The Hampton City Council and city staff realized years ago that there was a gap in our city, with respect to indoor areas for family fun. The opening of Sky Zone provides a place for our youth, teens, and families to gather, as well as for visitors who come to our city for other activities to recreate during their downtime.”

The location is also convenient for parents who, so long as they sign a waiver, can drop their kids off for an hour of jumping and fun while they shop.

Roger Duncan, co-owner of Sky Zone Hampton, said in a previous interview the location at Peninsula Town Center is a newer model than the park he owns in Baltimore and has employed nearly 120 Hampton residents.

Those looking to give Sky Zone a try can get discounted tickets through online coupon venue, Groupon, and check out their upcoming “Lockin” event on Feb. 14 when kids ages 11 to 17 can jump or compete in a video gaming competition from midnight to 7 a.m. Keane said.
