Martin Luther King Jr. Day is not just a day off from work or school.
It’s a day to remember the civil right leader who won Nobel Peace prize for his efforts to fight for civil rights, so African-Americans could be treated equally.
He is known for his peaceful march on Washington, D.C. and the iconic speech, “I Have a Dream”, in which he spoke of a world where people would not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
