Runaway Suite, a blog by Reservations.com, recently compiled a list of the top 25 Hallmark Christmas Towns.

Reservations.com is a hotel and travel agency site with stories such as the top places to visit for thrill-seekers and the top warm places to travel in the winter months.

Out of the Top 25 Hallmark Christmas Towns Index, Williamsburg was ranked at No. 6.

“We did the work for you and ranked some of the nicest, coziest small towns in America perfect for a Hallmark movie,” according the blog post. “Our process factored in scenery, friendliness, walkability, Christmas cheer, and small-town business representation.”

Williamsburg was chosen because of the blend of English traditions and new, original ones to the cheery atmosphere and jovial townspeople.

The blog post also noted the tradition of lighting cressets and placing single candles in windows and well as the 2,500 wreaths displayed in the historic area and the Christmas lights at Busch Gardens.

“It’s like slipping back into colonial days in this historic town,” according to the blog post. “Don’t be surprised if you run into a characteristic tricorne hat, especially during Christmastime.”
