A new holistic approach to veteran health and workforce development is coming in the new year.
The new Warrior Way Wellness Center opens Jan. 3.
The Beacon Institute: Veteran Pathways Home a faith-based non-profit organization is opening its first Warrior Way Wellness Center to provide Peer Holistic Health Services and workforce development for active duty military, veterans and their families, according to the organization’s news release.
“The greatest stories on the planet happen when someone decides not to give up, but keeps on going, no matter what, so we are tremendously hopeful that this new center will help many in the region,” said Sharon (Schlerf) Newcomb, who co-founded the nonprofit with Michael Newcomb, an Army veteran.
The nonprofit will use its Courage to Change programs based on peer-to-peer coaching, wellness and “inclusive” of the body, mind and spirit.
The Warrior Way Wellness Center, 469 McLaws Circle, will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There will be dedication ceremony on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The open house hours of the wellness center also is Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 23, 26 and 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
