The James City County Police Department will now use the Neighbors App by Ring to help the community stay informed about crime.
“The Neighbors App by Ring is a free app designed to help communities connect and stay informed about what’s going on around them – whether they own a Ring device or not,” according to the department’s news release. “Users nationwide are working together to make neighborhoods safer for their families, friends and neighbors.”
The department will share crime and safety alerts through the app and members can see crime alerts from neighbors within a 5-mile radius of their home.
In addition, the community can access the app without owning a Ring device. Read more about the Neighbors app by Ring here.
This Williamsburg Police Department partnered with Ring in May of this year.
