This Yorktown bank was robbed Tuesday

Authorities said the Old Point National Bank branch in the 200 block of Kiln Creek Parkway in Yorktown was robbed Tuesday morning.

York-Poquoson Sheriff’s deputies were alerted at 9:50 a.m. to the incident, according to the sheriff’s office.

The suspect, a man, “did not display a weapon but implied that he had one,” according to a YPSO Facebook post.

The suspect was described as about 5-foot-9 wearing a dark blue or black suit with a white hat and wearing a white mask.

He escaped the bank in an “unknown direction,” the sheriff’s office said, adding the suspect got away with cash.

No other information about the incident was immediately released.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen anything in the area or have information about the incident to call 911 or the sheriff’s office’s tip line, 757-890-4999.
