It’s that time again – Christmas Parade. Here’s what you need to know about traffic

The Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance Business Council’s annual Christmas Parade is Saturday.

The parade is rain or shine and road closures start at 8:30 a.m.

“We will usher in the holiday season with festive floats, lively bands and a number of civic organizations and businesses all decorated for the holiday,” according to the council’s news release. “Join us with our special guest — Santa Claus — as we Jingle All The Way down Richmond Road and Duke of Gloucester Street.”

In addition, children 3 years and older can get jingle bell bracelets while supplies last.

There is no parking on Richmond Road and towing will be enforced.

The parade route starts at Brooks Street off Richmond Road and ends at the corner of Henry and Francis streets, according to the news release.

Vehicles won’t be allowed to travel from the corner of Francis Street and South Henry Street to the W&M Law School and parents can pick up parade participants at the dispersal area on foot.

There will be no through traffic at the dispersal area from the corner of Francis Street and South Henry Street to the W&M Law School overflow lot.

The 2019 Williamsburg Christmas Parade starts on Brooks Street on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 9 a.m.
