Hampton University recently updated its Chick-Fil-A and added Pizza Hut to its Student Center food court.

“This is a great attraction to complement our illustrious University under the leadership of our Gourmet Services Resident District Manager, Kerwin Cromartie,” said William Harvey, president of Hampton University.

Previously the Chick-Fil-A on campus was an express for 13 years before transitioning to a full-service restaurant, according to the university’s news release.

Another change is a Starbucks and upgraded equipment to Plant Smoothie.

“We listen to our students to figure out which entities will work best for this campus,” Cromartie said, adding the university plans to work more with Pizza Hut for catering opportunities, deliveries and athletic events. “We have received an overwhelmingly amount of positive responses.”

Trinity Neal, a sophomore biochemistry major is happy with the food court changes, specifically about Chick-Fil-A and Pizza Hut.

“It’s nice with the full express Chick-fil-A because we get a lot more variety,” she said. “We have more options than sandwiches and fries all the time, now we can get a salad.”

“Having Pizza Hut is nice because we don’t have to order a pizza every night and have to worry about them looking for our dorms,” she added.
