Williamsburg Police and the Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force arrested eight people in the first phase of what authorities described as a months-long undercover narcotics investigation, police said.
Police said authorities seized multiple drugs including cocaine, crack, methamphetamine, THC oil and marijuana as well as a firearm.
Authorities did not release other details, citing an open investigation.
“The criminal investigation began when investigators received information from community members that individuals were delivering illegal narcotics to our city,” according to the Williamsburg Police Department’s news release. “This information fueled the criminal investigation which targeted the illegal drug activity.”
“This is an ongoing effort and we anticipate additional charges in the future.”
