With the help of tips from residents, York-Poquoson Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man they say tried to rob a local bank Saturday morning.

Authorities said they arrested Timothy Lee Crissman, 52, of West Point, Monday night. Information on what he is charged with or where he was booked was not made immediately available.

A brief news release from the sheriff’s office only indicated Crissman as being arrested “for the attempted robbery in the incident from October 19th.”

Authorities said Crissman was wearing a fake beard when he tried to rob a BB&T branch in the 6700 block of Mooretown Road around 9:30 a.m. Saturday, adding he “did not display a weapon or leave with any money.”
