October is dedicated to many causes: breast cancer awareness, shelter dog adoption, Halloween safety, global diversity, cookies, apples and much more.

In Virginia, October is also wine month, meaning some may choose to enjoy the changing leaves and cooler weather at one of the state’s 300-plus wineries.

To help wine lovers and tasters find their local vineyards, the Virginia Wine Marketing Office has compiled some handy maps outlining all the wineries by region, including in Hampton Roads.

The maps include the address, amenities on-site, hours, tasting fees, food options and more.

The Hampton Roads winery map outlines a 10-stop tasting trail that runs from New Kent, through Williamsburg, to the Southside and back up to Hampton.

Stops include: Gauthier Vineyard, Hampton Roads Winery, Mermaid Winery, Sly Clyde Ciderworks, Williamsburg Winery, Pungo Ridge Winery and more.

Besides the tasting trails, Virginians can also attend various wine-themed events around the state.

In Hampton Roads, events include the Annual Fall Town Point Virginia Wine Festival in Norfolk and the Virginia Beach Craft Beer & Wine Festival.
