VIRGINIA BEACH – Officials said the city during the fall season is a gorgeous time of the year for locals and visitors alike.
With the summer heat behind, the crisp air makes for a great outdoor experience, but there’s also a lot of going on indoors.
Take for instance the Convention Center. Here are a few things happening there this month:
- Oct. 11 – 13: The Treasures of the Earth Jewelry Show – Once again, this gem, mineral and jewelry show – another locals’ favorite – features estate, classic, handcrafted and fashion jewelry made from a variety of metals, as well as a vast array of crystals, minerals and fossils. Jewelers and wire wrappers will be on site who can design, remount or repair jewelry. In addition, there will be a gemologist present to do appraisals while you wait. For coupons, click here.
- Oct. 12 – 13: Virginia Beach Coin Show presented by Tidewater Coin Club – This free family-friendly show features displays and sales of U.S. and foreign coins and currency, domestic and foreign gold, ancient coins and artifacts, supplies and more. Door prizes, raffles and free gifts for the kids makes this show a family favorite. A Scout Coin Collecting Merit Badge workshop will be Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. All the details are here.
- Oct. 25 – 26: Anthem Wicked 10K and Sports & Fitness Expo – Anthem Wicked 10K and Old Point National Bank Monster Mile presented by Bon Secours In Motion shows off Virginia Beach’s wicked side to all those who love Halloween and running by the ocean.
