Norfolk Police’s lip sync extravaganza of Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” not only went viral, but snagged the grand prize of $100,000 during Lipsync to the Rescue which aired on CBS Monday night.
NPD beat the Seattle Police Department – they snagged second place, earning the department $50,000.
Norfolk is among the top 30 out of more than 1,000 #LipSyncChallenge videos where first responders challenged each other via over social media to produce a lip sync performance to popular songs.
Norfolk Police’s video which featured officers strutting through the headquarters went viral, was shot with an iPhone, a stabilizer, and a boombox, “on our lunch break,” said police spokesman Daniel Hudson.
Actor and comedian, Cedric the Entertainer hosted the show.
