In photos: JEB Little Creek-Fort Story flooding

Flooding on streets in Norfolk and Virginia Beach is just one of the effects of Hurricane Dorian Friday.

There were also reports of widespread power outages, downed trees and power line.

Pre-storm preparations conducted by personnel on Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story ensured the installation weathered the storm of Hurricane Dorian with minimal impact to the base, officials said.

Besides expected minor flooding in predicted areas and branches strewn about in heavily treed areas, the base experienced minimal impact — 34 Bradford Cove homes did lose power on base because of a fallen tree limb, but the installations Public Works Team expeditiously restored the power, Navy officials said.
