VIRGINIA BEACH — The city is asking for the public’s input on how the “next decade of growth” at the Resort Area should proceed in the future.
The online survey is open until Sept. 3 — officials said it’s looking for “support in reviewing past goals and setting new priorities for the next decade of growth in the Resort Area.”
The city has recently organized meetings and other surveys asking for residents’ opinions focused around mobility planning, streetscape design, gateways/sense of arrival, open spaces, and more.
Now, the city and the “Work Program Architects consultant team” wants to know how the public feels about planned developments and the way forward, including the areas focused on in the previous survey.

The Resort Area Strategic Action Plan was adopted in December of 2008.
Since that time, many of the strategic goals have been achieved through projects like the Laskin Gateway, the ViBe Connectivity Plan, Grommet Island Park, Hillier Ignite Fitness Park, and more.
The information from the surveys will be combined with information from public meetings to be presented to City Council and considered for inclusion in the updated plan, officials said in a news release.
