Those looking to help raise money for the local humane society — and who also own a dog — can get involved with a droolin’ good time Sept. 7.
Heritage Humane Society is hosting its annual Drool in the Pool fundraiser at Chickahominy Riverfront Park on Sept. 7, according to the shelter’s Facebook page.
“Bring your water-loving pup to join animal-lovers like you to save lives, one belly flop at a time,” an event description reads.
For the event, which is co-sponsored by James City County Parks and Recreation, dog owners can bring their pups to the park for a swim in the pool for a recommended donation of $10.
Pool passes for the dogs will be issued at the park gate, at 1350 John Tyler Highway.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will also include music, refreshments and “goodies.”
The event is weather-permitting.
