Police need your help finding the driver involved in a hit-run that killed this Poquoson man

NEWPORT NEWS — A Poquoson man has died after he was hit by car 10 days ago, authorities said in an email on Monday.

On June 27 at approximately 3:28 p.m. police responded to a hit and run at Colleen Drive and Laramie Court, according to the Newport News Police department news release. The victim, Herbert Wilson, 56 of Poquoson, told police he was struck by a beige, tan and gold vehicle, possibly a Ford Taurus wagon with ‘UK8’ on the license plate.

Wilson died from his injuries Saturday at a local hospital and police have not identified the suspect or the vehicle involved in the incident.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic or white man with short hair, a mustache and a “dark tan,” authorities said.

Anyone with information about the incident can call the NNPD at 888-562-5887.
