NORFOLK — Residents are invited to bring their yoga mats to MacArthur Center to commune with kittens for a Kitten Yoga event on July 13.

It will be at 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. in the Live 360 Studio.

Annie VanHook, owner and instructor with Yoga 108 and a kitten foster mom for Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center, will demonstrate how to hold tree pose even while a little kitty cat scampers up your limbs, officials said in a news release.

In addition to seeking serenity while doing yoga, Friends of the Norfolk Animal Care Center are looking for “fur-ever homes” for the bumper crop of kittens summer brings to NACC, officials said.

Participating kittens will be available for ear scratches, meowing messages and adoption.

Only a $5 donation is required to participate in the event and all proceeds go to the Norfolk Animal Care Center.

The donation will help animals in the city continue to receive support from FNACC for spaying and neutering, medical care and adoption.
