Red Pig BBQ & Brew opened about five months ago off Jamestown Road right next to Toby’s Dog House.

But an eviction notice on the door dated June 25 indicated the restaurant had to vacate the premises immediately. It was issued by the Williamsburg-James City County Sheriff’s Office.

The business was operated by Matt Yikillmaz and his son, Berkan and they served signature barbecue items like pulled pork and brisket and other items like pizza and tiramisu.

Reggie Akdogan, who owns Precious Gems in Williamsburg, is the building’s landlord. He did not immediately return phone calls seeking comment.

WYDaily called the sheriff’s office and was unable to get in touch with Sgt. Tina Crump, who is in charge of the eviction notices.

It is unclear why the restaurant was issued an eviction notice in the first place and calls made to Yikilmaz went unanswered.

The restaurant’s website is still live, but their Facebook page is unavailable.
