The 2019 Women’s World Cup will be gracing the televisions of sports bars across the country, but now locals in James City County can participate in the fun out on the field.

James City County Parks and Recreation has partnered with local soccer organizations to form a 3-on-3 soccer tournament to celebrate the 2019 Women’s World Cup.

On June 28, locals ages 8 to 18 will compete against various other teams for a chance at a title in each division.

Registration is required by June 19 along with a $5 fee and using the code #507600-A-L. When registering, players should sign-up individually and include their teammates’ names. After registration ends, the tournament schedule will be available for players.

Players will be divided into age groups for both the boys’ and girls’ division, but there is a 16-team limit for each division. Younger players’ games will be scheduled earlier in the day.

Team names will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.

To learn more information or to register, visit the James City County Recreation Center in person or online. The event may change based on weather conditions, to stay up-to-date call the activities hotline at 757-259-3232.
