VIRGINIA BEACH — The 11th annual “YNot Wednesdays” free summer concert series is in full swing, running every Wednesday until Aug. 28.
The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts hosts the free, open-air concert series as a way of celebrating making it halfway through the week at Virginia Beach Town Center, according to the city’s website.
While grooving to a variety of genres and tunes, visitors can buy pizza, sandwiches, gelato, mixed drinks, beer and a wide variety of non-alcoholic drinks from vendors on-site.
Those interested in purchasing alcohol need to make sure to get a wristband from security before buying drink vouchers.
Patrons must purchase a Ynot Wednesday drink cup with their vouchers if they are ordering mixed drinks. Bring back the cup each week to reuse, officials said.
Ynot Wednesdays Stamp Cards are new this season.
Collect each set of stamps and turn your completed card into the Sandler Center Marketing Table for a free goodie from your favorite breweries, city officials said.
The first stamp card will feature select beers from week 1-6.
The second stamp card will feature select beers from week 7-13.
If it gets too hot, come inside the Sandler Center lobby to cool off, shop at the Artisan Market (June 12, July 3, and Aug. 14), take a free educational tour of the building, visit one of the inside bars, or view public art displayed on the second and third floor lobbies.
Visitors can also bring their children to the Kids’ Craft Corner in the Miller Studio, where they’ll enjoy make-and-take activities, organizers said.
Proceeds from the concert series benefit the Sandler Center Foundation.
