NORFOLK — The Department of Transit will be hosting two open house community meetings for the Granby Street Multimodal Transportation Project.
The meetings will be on June 24, 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Mary D. Pretlow Library on 111 West Ocean Ave. and on June 26, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Northside Middle School on 8720 Granby St.
Attendees will be able to learn how bikes, buses and vehicles can safely travel together on Granby Street through this project, organizers said.
The city said the project will help shape the future of multimodal transportation options along Granby Street between Bayview Boulevard and Ocean View Avenue, officials said.
The project involves reallocating space from one automobile lane in each direction to multimodal lanes.
Attendees will also can:
- Review and provide input on traffic study results and conceptual design options.
- Learn about Strategic Bike Plan goals, recommendations and implementation processes.
- Learn how bicyclists and drivers can safely share the road.
