A man was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly threatening the Cheese Shop in downtown Williamsburg.

At 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Williamsburg Police officers were dispatched to the restaurant after a former employee, Tijuan Lee Jones, 35, made threats toward the business, according to police reports.

Jones’ employment with the shop had been terminated before he made the alleged threatening statements.

Police spokesman Charles Ericsson declined to give specifics, only saying it was a “verbal threat.”

Ericsson did say officers did not find it necessary to evacuate the business based on the alleged threats.

Within a few minutes, officers were able to find Jones walking in the area near the business.

He is charged with felony threatening to bomb or damage a building.
