Don’t let getting out this summer break the bank.

Here’s a list of free things to do in Virginia Beach.

Go on a walking tour

The Virginian Legends Tour pays homage to native Virginians who have made major contributions to society.

Start the tour on 13th Street and follow the path to see plaques dedicated to honorees like Ella Fitzgerald and Thomas Jefferson.

The ViBe District, Virginia Beach’s hub for art, food, and culture, keeps an interactive map on its website for self-guided public art tours.

If you’re into art but also like to be indoors, check out the Virginia Beach Art Center. It’s a common social and workplace whether you’re an art appreciator or creator.

Keep up with the ViBe District’s “First Friday” events on Facebook.

Live! on Atlantic is another ongoing free entertainment event hosted right on the oceanfront every weekend.

And, last but not least…

Go to the Beach

Virginia Beach draws tourists from all over to its oceanfront every year and– they’re free!

Take a stroll on the 3-mile long boardwalk. Or, take a bike ride, skateboard, or rollerblade on the adjoining bike path.

Don’t forget to stop and see the massive 34-foot Neptune statue outside of Neptune’s Park located right off of the boardwalk.

If you’re in town the last weekend in September, you’ll also be able to catch the annual Neptune Festival Boardwalk event.
