Memorial Day is May 27 and while taking time to observe the holiday, it’s a good idea to know what’s closed before heading out the door.

York County

  • York County Courthouse, closed.
  • York County offices, closed.
  • Virginia Cooperative Extension Service, closed.
  • York-Poquoson Social Services, closed.
  • York County Public Libraries, closed.
  • Waste Management Administrative Office, closed.
  • VPPSA Composting Facility, closed.

James City County

  • All county offices, closed.
  • James City County Recreation Center, closed.
  • Abram Frink Jr. Community Center, closed.
  • County parks, open.
  • Freedom Park store and office, closed.
  • Chickahominy Riverfront Park store and office, open.
  • James City County Marina store and office, open.
  • Little Creek Reservoir Park store and office, open.
  • Convenience centers, closed.
  • Garbage Transfer Station, closed.
  • Curbside recycling, as scheduled.

City of Williamsburg

  • Williamsburg Regional Library, closed May 26-27.
  • Municipal Building, closed.
  • Stryker Center library administrative offices, closed.
  • Quarterpath Recreation Center, closed.
  • Williamsburg-James City County Courthouse, closed.
  • Garbage collection, delayed one day.
