Double shooting at the Oceanfront leaves man dead

VIRGINIA BEACH – Police here are investigating a double shooting and are asking the public for information.

The shooting, which left a man dead and a woman hospitalized, happened Thursday night – officers were sent to the area of 11th Street and Pacific Avenue around 11:33 p.m.

There, police said they found “two victims” suffering from gunshot wounds. The man died at the scene, the woman was taken to a local hospital with what police described as “life-threatening injuries.”

Police did not release further details about the incident, citing an open investigation.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have information about the shooting to call Virginia Beach Crime Solvers at 888-LOCK-U-UP (888-562-5887). 

Those with information can also submit a tip via or by downloading the P3 Tips app available in Apple iTunes and Google Play Stores.    

Tipsters will remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest, police said.
