VIRGINIA BEACH — Over the weekend 70 of Virginia Beach City Public School buses were used to transport people to and from the Oceanfront for the ‘Something in the Water’ Festival.
“It was superb, no issues of any kind,” said David Pace, executive director of transportation and fleet management services for Virginia Beach City Public Schools.
Pace said the buses ran until 11 p.m. Sunday and the cleanup wasn’t too bad.
“One of my drivers came up to me and showed me a water bottle and a candy wrapper, that was all the trash left on their bus,” Pace said.
Passengers were courteous, thankful and outright kind to the drivers, he added.
“No incidents to report,” Pace said.
Of the 70 buses that worked the festival, five were ADA approved with the remaining 65 buses used for the general public.
“If there was to be another ‘Something in the Water’ and if the city were to call upon us, we’d do it again,” he said.
