HAMPTON — Harris Teeter, the North Carolina-based grocery store chain, is opening another location in Hampton Roads.

“Harris Teeter is thrilled to join the Hampton community; we look forward to serving our new neighbors and providing an incredible place to shop,” said Danna Robinson, communication manager for Harris Teeter.

According to Harris Teeter’s announcement, the new store is one of 10 Farm Fresh stores the retail giant purchased from SUPERVALU in May of last year.

The new 44,423-squar- foot location features a Starbucks, nut grinding station, express lane online shopping service, a Red Box DVD Rental Kiosk, an ATM and other amenities.

In September, Robinson told WYDaily in an email the Hampton store would ‘definitely’ have a gas station — but it was not mentioned in the grocery chain’s news release.

It’s unclear at this time if the Hampton location has a gas station and Robinson did not immediately respond to multiple requests for comment.

The grand opening Harris Teeter at Willow Oaks Village Square, 227 Fox Hill Road is May 8 at 8 a.m. with a ribbon cutting to follow. The store will open following the event and is open every day from 6 a.m. to midnight.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit Harris Teeter’s website.
