VIRGINIA BEACH — Barnes & Noble on Thursday unveiled its plan of renovating its Town Center store “to give customers a new and exciting shopping experience.”
The store at 4485 Virginia Beach Blvd. will be closed for renovation starting April 28, and will reopen in late fall 2019, company officials said.
“I am pleased to announce that we are renovating our Virginia Beach Town Center location to bring the community a redesigned store featuring a more curated book presentation to improve discovery, as well as new looks for our Children’s Section and Café,” said Frank Morabito, Barnes & Noble’s vice president of stores.
The redesigned store will be based on one of Barnes & Noble’s latest prototypes, which features a contemporary design that includes lower profile bookshelves to give customers a full view of the store for easy navigation.
The redesigned children’s section will have space for activities and crafts, and the store will also have an event space for author visits and other Barnes & Noble events.
The store will continue to offer a wide selection of the best educational toys, games, puzzles, and curated gift items, company officials said.
During the closure, customers can shop at Barnes & Noble at the Lynnhaven Mall at 701 Lynnhaven Parkway, as well as the Barnes & Noble in Chesapeake at 1212 Greenbrier Parkway.
