Nearly one year after first seeking a height waiver to build a “mystery attraction,” Finnegan’s Flyer is set to open in Killarney Village at Busch Gardens.

The “screamin’ swing” will open May 3, Busch Gardens Williamsburg announced in a tweet Tuesday.

Finnegan’s Flyer will reach heights more than 80 feet and speeds of 45 mph. It has two swinging pendulum-like arms that hold about 30 riders per trip.

Crews have been working to build the ride for several months.

Finnegan’s Flyer runs on compressed air and is painted to resemble the cliffs along the Celtic coast.

Cutback, a water coaster at Water Country USA, is also expected to open in May. Water Country USA opens officially May 18.
