
On May 1, pet owners can bring “man’s best friend” to a select leash-free area at Jamestown Beach Event Park.
On March 12, the Board of Supervisors amended the code so county parks could establish off-leash areas for dogs, and agreed on a five-month trial program at Jamestown Beach Event Park.
This trial program ends in October.

According to announcement, the marked area is approximately 150 feet by 300 feet and won’t be completely fenced-in.

In addition, pet waste stations with bags are available.
Jamestown Beach Event Park, 2205 Jamestown Road, is open daily from 8 a.m. until sunset. The off-leash dog area is closed for special events.
