Thomas Nelson Community College received a $100,000 grant from Dominion Energy to help the college and by extension, the Grove community.
“Being able to assist the Grove residents makes this grant uniquely special,” said Melanie Rapp Beale, spokeswoman for Dominion Energy. “Through this partnership, Dominion Energy looks forward to helping each individual who takes advantage of these opportunities.”
According to the TNCC’s announcement, the money will fund an annual dental clinic, community health fairs, scholarships for nearly 30 college students and STEM summer camps.
The grant will also provide transportation for the Grove community to the TNCC Historic Triangle dental clinic on campus and a week-long robotic summer camp for children in third through eight grade.
