VIRGINIA BEACH — April can bring to mind a usually gloomy subject: taxes.
Rather than dwell on the looming filing deadline, city officials suggest why not venture to the Convention Center and check out the many events this month.
Here’s a quick look at a few events happening April:
- April 6 – 7: THE ONE Cheer and Dance Finals – A unique, end-of-season event offered to exceptional cheer and dance teams, THE ONE returns to our coastal city. As the East Division battles it out, competition teams in divisions ranging from All-Star to Recreation will take to the floor for two days where THE ONE in each division will take the crown. This is a spectator ticketed event; toddlers ages 4 and younger are free.
- April 11 – 14: 2019 USA Gymnastics Regional 7 Level 9/10 Regionals – Hosted by local gym Ocean Tumblers, this four-day event features advanced gymnasts who have qualified to attend this regional championship meet. Competitions include floor, beam, bars and vault. One- and two-day spectator passes will be available for sale. Children ages 5 and younger are admitted free.
- April 19 – 20: 2019 Southeastern Guns & Knives Show (SGK) – SGK is an organized event that promotes understanding the sports of shooting, appreciation of American history and an opportunity to view historic and contemporary weapons. SGK patrons attend the shows as collectors, hobbyists, sportsmen and hunters as well as those who are interested in home defense. This is a ticketed event and children 14 and under are free with a guardian.
