NORFOLK — The Virginia Zoo participates in membership swaps with other museums around Hampton Roads from time to time and for the month of May the zoo will be swapping memberships with The Mariners’ Museum in Newport News.
Virginia Zoo members who visit The Mariner’s Museum will enjoy free admission for up to six people each day, a 10 percent discount in the gift shop and $1 off movie tickets, according to a news release from the zoo.
Members of the zoo can also take advantage of one additional month on Mariners’ Museum memberships if they become members of the museum in May.
To enjoy that benefit, visitors need to show their current membership card and photo ID at the admissions desk.
The same goes for members of the Mariners’ Museum — they will get free admission for up to six people at the zoo and the 10 percent discount in the zoo gift shop and food service locations.
