Human skeletal remains were found in York County on Tuesday, the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said in Facebook post.
At approximately 1:08 p.m. sheriff deputies were called to the 700 block of East Rochambeu Drive and found human skeletal remains in a wooded area, the sheriff’s office said.
According to the YPSO’s Facebook post, the remains were sent to the Medical Examiner’s office in Norfolk — authorities said there were no signs of foul play.
Authorities said an ID was found with the remains but the name won’t be released until the remains have been positively identified.
WYDaily called Shelley Ward, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, who did not immediately return multiple phone calls and voicemails. WYDaily also reached out to Sheriff Danny Diggs, who also did not immediately respond.
This is the second set of human remains found in York County. Authorities found human remains near intersection of Fort Eustis Boulevard and Route 17 Sunday.
