Here’s the lineup for Pharrell’s ‘Something in the Water’

VIRGINIA BEACH – Perhaps a vast majority of residents already know there’s going to be “Something in the Water” come April, and now star backer Pharrell Williams has released the lineup.

Williams made the announcement via a video tweet Sunday. The event will be on April 26, 27 & 28.

The Virginia Beach native will be among the performers along with Travis Scott, Diplo, Portsmouth-native Missy Elliott.

The 2019 season is being dubbed “a transition year,” as the festival integrates “as the primary social programming” of College Beach Weekend, according to City Council documents.

Williams and his multimedia branding company I Am Other are funding the festival. He is also a partner for the Virginia Beach surf park and 3,500-seat entertainment center venture.

“This is going to be a transformative event for our city,” said Mayor Robert “Bobby” Dyer. “We are absolutely thrilled with the plans Pharrell and his team have for this year. There will be no doubt that what is ‘in the water’ around Virginia Beach is ‘something’ very special.”

Tickets for the festival will go on sale Friday at noon and can be purchased at somethinginthewater.com according to a news release from Live Nation, producer of the festival.
