VIRGINIA BEACH — Southside Daily has partnered with the city’s police department and the Virginia Beach Crime Solvers to raise awareness about persons of interest in the city.
Crime Solvers is a nonprofit organization that accepts completely anonymous tips from residents about criminal activity. Information from tipsters is shared with police, but remains completely anonymous — no identifying information of sources is ever disclosed and the anonymity of tipsters is protected by state law.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about any of these people to contact Virginia Beach Crime Solvers.
Tipsters could also be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.
Here’s this week’s list:
On Jan. 20, the two men used counterfeit money to make purchases at the 7-Eleven store 1100 Independence Blvd., police said. The woman was with the men, and they all drove away in the pictured vehicle, police said.
On Jan. 21, the man wearing the hat took $700 from the victim with the promise to purchase a television at Best Buy in Landstown Commons with an employee discount, police said. He was with the other man on another day at the Best Buy in Chesapeake. They both claimed to be Best Buy employees, police said.
On Jan. 23, these two men went to the Lidl on Edison Road, loaded a cart full of groceries, and left the store with the groceries without paying, police said. They left the parking lot in a gray or blue Acura SUV.
On Jan. 16, the woman pictured above used multiple stolen credit cards at stores in Lynnhaven Mall to purchase approximately $13,000 in electronics and gift cards, police said. Her hair is dark brown or black and the man pictured was with her during her crime spree, police said. The victim’s wallet was stolen while she was at Whole Foods, police said.
