#WINNING2019: Local gallery celebrates International Women’s Day with portraits

HAMPTON — The Blue Skies Gallery will open a new art exhibit in honor of International Women’s Day with more than a dozen photos of women empowering other women.

The show is free and open to the public.

According to the gallery’s announcement, the exhibit features 15 photographs of women by Patty Locklear Photography and biographies written by Elizabeth Ward.

”Women of Tidewater #WINNING 2019 celebrates women as inspiring, positive role models who have broken down barriers and stereotypes, and who have transformed themselves into the beautiful, authentic souls they are now – kind, generous, gracious, humble and helpful,” Locklear said.

The Women of Tidewater #WINNING2019 exhibit opens at the Blue Skies Gallery, 26 S. King St. on March 9 at 2 p.m. The show runs through April 9 and light refreshments will be served.
