The new homeless day services center in Newport News is officially open.
The center is for people who are homeless and the services are free, according to the city.
It’s operated by the City of Newport News, the Volunteers of America Chesapeake and other organizations who provide various services such as job skills training, permanent housing, medical treatment and financial literacy classes to people who are homeless, officials said.
There will be a dedication ceremony on March 5 at 11 a.m.
The Four Oaks Day Service Center, 7401 Warwick Blvd. is open Monday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call the center at 757-926-8643.
