NORFOLK — Authorities said a bomb threat caused an evacuation of the federal building here Monday afternoon.

The report was received by police around 1:15 p.m. At approximately 3:50 p.m., Norfolk Police gave the all clear — employees and the public were allowed inside the building, and normal operations resumed.

Immediately after the report was received, traffic lanes around the building in the 200 block of Granby St. were blocked “pending the completion of a K9 sweep,” police said.

Light Rail travel were also suspended in the area — service also resumed shortly after police gave the “all clear.”

No injuries were reported. Police and Department of Homeland Security are investigating.
