NORFOLK — Motorists should be aware of the following updated detour information on local streets for overhead pier work and underground utility work on the I-64/I-264 Interchange Improvements Project.
Kempsville Road
- 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 to 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11: Full closure of the northbound and southbound lanes at the I-264 underpass. Detour to Newtown Road.
- 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, to Thursday, Feb. 14: Nightly full closures of the southbound lanes and a single-lane closure in the northbound lanes. The right northbound lane will remain open. Southbound detour to Newtown Road.
- 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 to 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18: Full closure of the southbound lanes and a single-lane closure in the northbound lanes. The right northbound lane will remain open. Detour to Newtown Road.
Curlew Drive
- 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18 to approximately March 18: Closure of Curlew Drive near the I-64 underpass. Traffic will be detoured via Military Highway, I-264 and Newtown Road. Access will remain open to all residences and streets off of Curlew Drive during the detour.
