Better bundle up: Weather on the Peninsula will range from wind gusts and low temps to possible snow showers and icy roads.
Jeff Orrock, meteorologist-in-charge at the National Weather Service Wakefield office, said the Peninsula will see fluctuating temperatures, wind gusts and quite possibly, rain or snow showers.
“This is the coldest shot of air we’ve had yet this winter,” Orrock said.
Orrock said he and his team are concerned about water freezing on roads and turning into ice, particularly from Sunday night into Monday morning when the temperature will drop to below freezing.
Monday around 7 a.m. the temperatures will drop to around 17 degrees but with the wind chill, expect the temperature actually feel like 4 degrees, he said.
