Arrests made in connection with Tuesday killing of teenager

VIRGINIA BEACH — Police here late Thursday said they have arrested a 19-year-old man and three juveniles in connection with the Tuesday shooting death of a teenager.

Jacob Alexander Meadows, of the 1000 block of Princess Anne Road, is charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm, two counts of conspiracy to violate the Drug Act, three counts of distribution of marijuana and possession of marijuana within a school zone.

He is being held in the Virginia Beach Jail without bond.

Additionally, two juveniles are charged with robbery, conspiracy to violate the Drug Act and use of a firearm.

Another juvenile is charged with distribution of marijuana and conspiracy to violate the Drug Act.

On Tuesday, officers were sent to to the 2700 block of Elson Green Avenue at around 3:59 p.m. after dispatchers received a report “that a person had been shot,” according to a police news release.

There, officers found a 17-year-old boy dead from a gunshot wound. In an updated news release Wednesday afternoon, police confirmed the victim “was male teenaged juvenile, therefore we cannot release his identity.”

Further information about the case was not immediately released.
